2.2. NATURE OF THE RESERVOIRS
The reservoir to be developed in the Flyndre Field is in the Paleocene Balmoral Sand. Two minor
hydrocarbon accumulations are found in the chalk of the Tor and Ekofisk Formations. These
accumulations are sub commercial and are not considered for development at the moment. A
structure map showing Top Balmoral Sand and the drilled exploration and appraisal wells along with
the existing producer is shown in Figure 2‐3.
