Welcome to Delhi! The ancient city of ‘Dilli’ warmly welcomes you. This is a city that housed nearly a dozen capitals, each old city overlaid a new one
before giving birth to the ‘New Delhi’ of the early 20th century. This modern metropolis has a population and diversity that comfortably competes with
other nations. With over 100,000 lawyers and a vibrant court system it is easily home to more dispute resolution than most world cities. As members
of the Bar, we feel proud to partner with the IBA and to offer what promises to be an idea exchange and in-depth review of specialist areas of legal
practice. When you ‘dance with dragons and tigers’, the theme of this conference, you must also be brave enough to ask questions, criticise and argue
formidably. We hope to offer you new knowledge that expands your horizons eastwards.
The conference programme reflects a wealth of legal talent, but we require international practitioners from India and abroad to participate and shape
laws of the future from lessons of the past. The conference is an opportunity to examine issues such as dispute resolution and corruption in the region
to see how they affect international business and a slew of ordinary cross-border legal aspects including the passage of risk, quality control, brand
protection, the impact of competition law and more. We look forward to you joining us to enjoy the best of Delhi’s weather (cool sunny days and chilly
evenings), the best of Indian hospitality at the Taj in Central Delhi, a fine social programme and the world’s best food (we are marginally biased about
Indian food). We aim to host a conference that show-cases knowledge, expertise and wit with several special keynote speakers from India and abroad,
over 35 foreign speakers and the same number of eminent ones from India.
See you in Delhi!
With best wishes
