INSTALLATION AND OPERATION<br />
CHECKLIST<br />
1. Prepare the sampler.<br />
a. Adjust the distributor arm to fit the bottle kit. Then install<br />
the distributor arm and discharge tube. (See Installing the<br />
Distributor Arm and Discharge Tube on page 39.) ForComposite<br />
bottle kits, install the composite tube guide and<br />
thread the discharge tube through the guide. (See CompositeBottleKitson<br />
page 44.)<br />
b. Install the bottle kit. (See Installing Bottle Kits on page 41,<br />
or CompositeBottleKitsonpage44.) c. Install the power source. (See Installing a Power Source on<br />
page 46.)<br />
d. Check the pump tube. Replace it if necessary and reset the<br />
pump tube warning. (See Checklist For Replacing Pump<br />
Tube on page 75.)<br />
e. Attach the suction line to the pump tube. (See Suction Line<br />
on page 46.)<br />
f. Attach a strainer to the suction line if necessary. (See Strainers<br />
on page 47.)<br />
2. Install the sampler at the monitoring site.<br />
a. Ice the tub, if desired. (See Icing the Samples on page 49.)<br />
b. Install the strainer or end of the suction line in the flow<br />
streamandroutethesuctionlinetothesampler.(SeeIntake<br />
Placement and Tips for Routing Suction Line on page 49.)<br />
c. Install a module, if desired. Refer to the module manual for<br />
instructions for installing the module.<br />
d. Place the sampler in position. (See Positioning a <strong>Sampler</strong> on<br />
page 49.)<br />
e. Connect any necessary external instruments to the sampler.<br />
(See Connecting External Instruments on page 50.)<br />
3. Program the sampler. Programming guidelines are in Chapter<br />
2, Programming and in the module manual.<br />
4. Run the sampling program. (See Running Programs on page 52.)<br />
5. Service the sampler.<br />
a. Recover the sampler. (See Recovering the <strong>Sampler</strong> on page 58.)<br />
b. Collect the sample bottles. (See Collecting Sample Bottles on<br />
page 58.)<br />
c. Replace the battery if required.<br />
d. Collect the sampling data. (See Sampling Reports on page 59.)<br />
e. Replace the sample bottles.<br />
