<strong>6700</strong> SAMPLERS<br />

Get Status<br />

There is only one form of this command available:<br />

STS,1,CS,581<br />

“STS,1” instructs the sampler to return the current status<br />

“CS,581” is the checksum value. The byte-by-byte sum of the<br />

ASCII values in the string “STS,1,CS” is581.<br />

“” is a carriage return signifying the end of the command.<br />

Take Sample<br />

The TAKE SAMPLE command is only valid if the sampler is<br />

WAITING TO SAMPLE. Format the command as follows:<br />

BTL,2,SVO,100,CS,1039<br />

“BTL,2” instructs the sampler to place the sample in bottle 2.<br />

“SVO,100” instructs the sampler to take a 100 ml sample.<br />

“CS,1039” is the checksum value. The byte-by-byte sum of the<br />

ASCII values in the string “BTL,2,SVO,100,CS,” is 1039.<br />

“” is a carriage return signifying the end of the command.<br />

Set Time<br />

The SET TIME command is only valid if the sampler is WAIT-<br />

ING TO SAMPLE. Format the command as follows:<br />

TI,35523.50000,CS,988<br />

“TI,35523.50000” setsthetime.Thevalue“35523.5000” is<br />

the number of days since 00:00:00 1-Jan-1900. This example<br />

would set the sampler’s clock to 12:00:00 3-Apr-1997.<br />

“CS,988” is the checksum value. The byte-by-byte sum of the<br />

ASCII values in the string “TI,35523.50000,CS,” is 988.<br />

Command Driven <strong>Sampler</strong> Responses<br />

The <strong>6700</strong> <strong>Sampler</strong>’s response string is the same for each of the<br />

threecommands.Asampleresponsestringisshownbelow:<br />

MO,<strong>6700</strong>,ID,2424741493,TI,35523.50000,STS,1,ST<br />

I,35523.41875,BTL,2,SVO,100,SOR,0,CS,xxxx<br />

Note that the sampler’s response is a series of alphabetical and<br />

numerical pairs. The alphabetical characters are headings that<br />

describe the following numerical value or code. A complete<br />

description of each pair is listed below.<br />

MO,<strong>6700</strong>, is the model number of the sampler.<br />

ID,2424741493, is the sampler’s unique identification number.<br />

TI,35523.50000, is the sampler’s current time.<br />

STS,1, is the sampler’s current status. The possible states are:<br />
