optional dial-out modem, if installed.<br />

3. Configure your communications software for a baud rate no<br />

higher than 19,200 kb (9600 recommended), no parity, 8 data<br />

bits, and 1 stop bit.<br />

4. From the computer’s keyboard, type “?” repeatedly until the<br />

<strong>6700</strong> controller determines the baud rate. Once the baud rate is<br />

known, the <strong>6700</strong> returns an identification banner. This banner<br />

indicates that the connection is working properly. If you have<br />

difficulty with the connection, try a slower baud rate.<br />

5. Type DATA each time the data string is desired.<br />

The serial data is in comma-separated-value format. Only the<br />

values that the sampler is set up to measure will be output in the<br />

data string. The string is terminated with a . To read<br />

the data in the string, refer to Table 12.<br />
