BREEDING SHOWS<br />
Successful rose breeding depends on<br />
meticulous planning and paying close<br />
attention to even the smallest details.<br />
Important characteristics include the beauty<br />
of the flower form, outstanding garden<br />
performance, health and fragrance. The<br />
selectors working with <strong>David</strong> <strong>Austin</strong> also<br />
look for an almost indefinable characteristic–<br />
grace. We believe that this special quality sets<br />
the English <strong>Roses</strong> apart from other roses.<br />
Following the initial selections, the most<br />
outstanding seedlings undergo up to eight<br />
years of field trials. Eventually just three to<br />
six new varieties will be released each year.<br />

During 2011, we’ll be exhibiting at the<br />
Melbourne International Flower &<br />
Garden Show (MIFGS). This is<br />
Australia’s premier garden show and is on<br />
from March 30 to April 3 at the Royal<br />
Exhibition Buildings and Carlton<br />
Gardens in Melbourne, Victoria. We will<br />
be displaying our roses in the Great Hall<br />
along with Rose Introducers of Australia.<br />
