Arawhata Road is imp<strong>or</strong>tant as <strong>the</strong> habitat f<strong>or</strong> a nationally rare herb. The area is popular f<strong>or</strong><br />

surf<strong>in</strong>g with reefs present <strong>of</strong>fsh<strong>or</strong>e 4 .<br />

Good - Arawhata Road ends approximately 300 metres from <strong>the</strong> coast with <strong>the</strong><br />

unf<strong>or</strong>med section <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> road extend<strong>in</strong>g through a paddock down is <strong>the</strong> coast.<br />

The unf<strong>or</strong>med road adjo<strong>in</strong>s an esplanade reserve. This area <strong>of</strong> coast is lowly<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
