MTT 100 KSA Semi-Automatic
Injection Moulding Machine
The compact and easy to use MTT 100 KSA is ideal for prototype and
small batch production from 50 to 1000 parts. Typical applications include
insert mouldings and any projects where quick mould changes are
required. The machine is also suitable for laboratory testing of plastics
and moulds, and for institutes and training establishments.
The machine’s power lock and dwell timer enables a pre-set ram
pressure to develop a single, timed injection stroke at the push of a
button. Alternatively, the manual operation option is a particularly useful
feature for setting up moulds. The mould remains readily accessible
to the operator and modifications are therefore quick and convenient.
The 100 KSA moulds almost any thermoplastic material and uses low
cost ‘bridge tooling’ systems such as MTT’s EP tooling resins, or
materials such as aluminium.
• Compact high quality construction
• 20 tonnes locking pressure
MTT 50/E Blow Moulding Machine
MTT’s 50/E Blow Moulding machine delivers an economical solution
for designers and manufacturers of bottles, containers or other hollow
forms. Typical applications already include prototypes and low volume
production parts for the packaging, cosmetic, food, pharmaceutical,
toy and automotive industries.
User friendly and with its small footprint, the machine’s ideal
environment is within the R & D or prototyping workshop where quality
prototype bottles and containers can be made available for trials in
production materials including PE, PP, and hDPE. The MTT 50/E is ideally
suited to batches of up to 1000 parts.
When the machine is used in conjunction with moulds made from MTT’s
EP Tooling Resin, development time can be reduced dramatically –
to as little as one week from concept to prototype. Containers of up to
one litre capacity can be produced from a maximum parison or shot
weight of 115gm.
The machine features an electric drive on the screw, which reduces both
cycle time and noise levels.
• Quick set up time – parts can be produced within an hour
• User friendly control system – short learning curve
• Single phase/pneumatic – very low running costs
• Small footprint – suitable for laboratory use
• Clean room compatible – ideal for medical applications
MTT EP Tooling Resin
Conventional injection moulding tools are expensive and time consuming
to produce. MTT developed its EP Tooling Resin to allow the reduction
of costs and cycle times, particularly for prototypes and low volume
production parts. By using the EP Tooling Resin, an injection moulding
tool can be produced in as little as three days.
Quick and easy to process, EP Tooling Resin can be used in conjunction
with existing pattern making methods and will produce a tool suitable
for injection moulding between 50 and 2000 components. CNC machining
and SL produce the most successful master models for use with EP
Tooling Resin, as both enable the creation of accurate models where split
lines can be fully incorporated as part of the original model.
An EP Tooling Resin tool offers a high compressive strength and heat
deflection temperature. Shrinkage is low at 0.02% and the material is
easy to machine with a surface which can be polished to a near mirror
finish. For mould changes and alterations, the EP Tooling Resin tool can
be reworked easily without losing mould stability and strength. Typical
applications include:
• Large and small injection moulds
• Blow moulds
• Wax injection moulds
• Press moulds
• Shoe sole injection moulds
The process
1. Use any type of rapid prototyping model
including wood, plaster, leather, silicone or
resin. Fit metal inserts if required.
2. Mix EP Tooling Resin with hardener and
degas. Fix casting frame and cooling pipes.
Cast the EP Tooling Resin. Degas again.
3. Fix upper casting frame. Cast EP Tooling
Resin. Degas again.
4. Remove the casting frame. 5. heat cure the mould in the oven. 6. Completed injection tool.
