Mulberry shoot
briquettes as fuel
Commercialized
Waste stems & shoots are available through out the
year in sericultural clusters as silkworm rearing is a
continuous activity. Huge quantity of shoots left
after rearing is over is woody with high C: N ratio
and are not suitable for compost preparation unless
crushed. Farmers use these shoots as fuel for
various domestic purposes. To enhance the utility of
these mulberry waste shoots and also to protect the
environment, the present technology has been
developed where in briquettes are produced out of
left over biomass, which is at par with high quality
coal.

3 Poshan A multinutrient formulation for correcting the
nutrient deficiencies. Commercialized
4 Loose egg A modified plastic made incubation frame was
incubation frames designed and fabricated with two units. Base unit is
having rough checkered surface helps to keep the
eggs in one layer and outer frame helps to put the
tissue paper at fixed position. This unit is highly
economical and helps in significant improvement in
silkworm egg hatching. The product is

commercialized.

cocoons from rotary mountages are fabricated with
plastic pusher. It reduces labour cost in harvesting
of cocoons. It avoids damages to the card board of
the rotary mountages. It is commercialized.
6 Pedal operated This harvester is developed for the large scale
composite cocoon farmers, all the cocoons can be harvested at a time
harvester
from each grill. Ideal tool for cocoon harvesting
from rotary mountages, saves 70 % of time for
harvesting without any electricity is required. It is
commercialized.
7 Mature silkworm Two types of separator are available, a power
separator
operated & the other is manually operated. Both
these machines are useful in fast separation of
mature worms saving harvest time and also labour
cost. The motorized machine can separate about
35000 mature silkworm larvae in about 2 hrs to
facilitated quick mounting. The equipment has
been commercialized.
8 Asthra A rearing house disinfectant which is chlorine base
& effective against all silkworm pathogens at 0.05%
dilution. It is commercialized and is being produced
commercially.
