creation, but that it completely overspread the earth<br />

as a translucent veil above the atmosphere. It served<br />

as does the whitened glass of a hothouse to equalize<br />

the temperature ; so that the climate at the poles would<br />

be little if any different from that at the equator."<br />

Following the Deluge in Noah’s day came great<br />

changes, accompanied by a great shortening in the<br />

span of life. With the breaking of this canopy in the<br />

Flood came a terrific change, almost instantaneous,<br />

from a hothouse temperature to arctic coldness. See<br />

The Scriptures say of some that they "seek for glory,<br />

honor <strong>and</strong> immortality." (Romans 2:6, 7) This is<br />

contradiction to some who claim that all men have it,<br />

without seeking it. Again, the apostle says of the saint<br />

of God that "this mortal must put on immortality."<br />

(1 Corinthians 15:53) Except it be granted as a reward<br />

for faithfulness by him ’who only hath immortality,"<br />

the Almighty, there could never result in the<br />

entire universe of God an immortal being. See 1<br />

Will those "spirits in prison," the angels which kept<br />

not their first estate <strong>and</strong> became fallen ones, ever have<br />

an opportunity to repent of their sin <strong>and</strong> return to the<br />

service of God? St. Peter tells us that they are "reserved<br />

unto judgment" (2 Peter 2:4), thus settling<br />

the matter that they, as well as mankind, will have a<br />

trial under the reign of Christ <strong>and</strong> the church. "Know
