When the grapes were ripe Lydia made<br />

from their juice a wine <strong>and</strong> gave to Noah to<br />

drink as he returned from harvest one day<br />

much wearied, thinking it would refresh him.<br />

:But it had a strange <strong>and</strong> unusual effect upon<br />

him. He became intoxicated, <strong>and</strong> Ham,<br />

entering the tent of his father, found himuncovered[<br />

At length Noah awakened from his sleep<br />

of this startling event. He instructed<br />
