19.2.3 Joining an Existing Ad-Hoc Network<br />

iRouter Mode<br />

If iChip detects ad-hoc networks in its vicinity and the WLSI parameter is set to (!), iChip<br />

joins the network having the strongest signal. Otherwise, iChip joins the network whose<br />

SSID is set by the WLSI parameter.<br />

19.2.4 Merging Ad-Hoc Networks<br />

When iChip is configured to operate in ad-hoc mode, the Marvell WiFi chipset it is<br />

connected to performs a periodic scan for other ad-hoc networks in the vicinity having<br />

the same SSID but a different BSSID. If a scan indicates the existence of such an ad-hoc<br />

network, the Marvell chipset initiates a procedure of merging networks. Networks merge<br />

into the one that was created earlier.
