33.10 LAN Parameters<br />

Nonvolatile Parameter Database<br />

33.10.1 +iMACA — MAC Address of iChip<br />

Syntax: <strong>AT+i</strong>MACA=mac Permanently sets iChip‘s MAC address.<br />

Parameters: mac = MAC address. The MAC address may only<br />

be assigned once in the lifetime of the device, i.e.,<br />

while the current MAC address is still<br />

FFFFFFFFFFFF. After a MAC address is assigned<br />

it cannot be changed or overwritten.<br />

Command Options:<br />

mac= mac@ must consist of 12 hexadecimal characters.<br />

If the current MAC is FFFFFFFFFF then mac@ will<br />

become the permanent MAC address.<br />

Default: MAC address assigned by Connect One at the<br />

factory . 1<br />

Result code:<br />

I/OK If mac is a legal hexadecimal string, and the MAC<br />

address is being set for the first time.<br />

I/ERROR Otherwise<br />

<strong>AT+i</strong>MACA? Report the current MAC address. If no MAC<br />

address has been defined, the reply will be<br />

―FFFFFFFFFFFF‖.<br />

The reply is followed by I/OK.<br />

<strong>AT+i</strong>MACA=? Returns the message ‗String‘.<br />

The reply is followed by I/OK.<br />

Note: Connect One owns a registered IEEE MAC address range. MAC addresses are normally<br />

set by Connect One in the factory in that address range. However, Users may request to purchase<br />

iChip devices without MAC address assignments in order to assign addresses in their own address<br />

range.
