To determine the strength of worn links, measure the amount of eye wear with calipers as shown,<br />

and compare the figure with the table for the new capacity. Capacity of set is that of weakest eye.<br />

Measure the depth of the link ear at the<br />

point of the greatest wear (Dim. A). The new<br />

capacity of the hook and/or link ears is<br />

shown in corresponding chart of hook size.<br />

WEAR LIMItS: It is recommended that<br />

any hook showing wear of 1/2" be promptly<br />

repaired. Wear should never exceed 3/4".<br />

When properly built up to recommended<br />

dimensions, the wear pad will prevent further<br />

loss in capacity until original wear point is<br />

reached. The load capacity will always be<br />

that of greatest wear.<br />
