SUMP CLEANER TROUBLESHOOTING CHART<br />

PROBLEM PART TO CHECK POSSIBLE SOLUTION<br />

Insufficient suction or no<br />

suction<br />

1. Basket 1A. Check for full basket; empty<br />

1B. Check if basket is blinded off; clean or replace<br />

2. Hoses 2A. Check for obstructions; physically remove<br />

2B. Check for cracks or holes; replace<br />

3. Air leakage 3. Check all hose connections for tightness; make<br />

sure female quick disconnect fittings have gaskets<br />

in place; check top gasket on filter basket and<br />

rep<strong>air</strong> or replace.”<br />

4. Discharge nozzle 4. Check that discharge nozzle is fully closed and in<br />

place; switch to discharge mode<br />

5. Air supply 5. Check <strong>air</strong> supply pressure; 100-125 PSI @ 20-30<br />

CFM needed. Check supply hose diameter (3/8”<br />

hose with ¼” fittings required; 3/8” fittings<br />

recommended)<br />

6. Air <strong>venturi</strong> silencer 6. Check silencer on <strong>air</strong> ventuir powerhead for<br />

blockage by dirt/oil; clean or replace<br />

Insufficient discharge 1. Suction valve 1. Check that suction inlet ball valve is fully closed<br />

2. Regulator 2. Pressure regulator could be out of adjustment;<br />

contact a Service Technician at The Andersons<br />

Will not discharge 1. Discharge hose 1. Check hose for blockage; physically remove<br />

obstruction<br />

2. Tank 2. Check for build up of fines and swarf in bottom of<br />

tank; clean as necessary<br />

3. Discharge nozzle 3. Check to see if nozzle is plugged; physically<br />

remove obstruction.<br />

4. Suction valve 4 Be sure suction ball valve is fully closed<br />

Excessive noise 1. Air <strong>venturi</strong> silencer 1. Check for liquid saturation; drain and dry<br />

or replace<br />

Portability 1. Hard to Push 1. Check for worn wheels or casters; replace<br />

2. Check wheel and caster bearings; grease or replace<br />

3. Rough floors; use a forklift truck for transport<br />
