Carb-N-Sert jaws are made of
tungsten carbide, the hardest steel
made for surgical instruments. They
are then bonded to needle holders
made of the finest quality stainless
steel.
Teeth are precision milled into the
tungsten carbide, forming sharp
pyramid-shapes to provide a
positive non-slip grip on needles
and sutures.
• Carb-N-Sert jaws are custom
styled with teeth ranging from 2600
p.sq. inch to 16000 p.sq. inch,
according to the size of the instrument
and the sizes of needles and
sutures used. Some needle holder
patterns are also available with
smooth Carb-N-Sert jaws, designed
to hold the smallest sutures
in micro-surgical and plastic
surgery procedures.
• The edges around the outside of
the jaws are chamfered to prevent
accidental cutting of suture material
when held in the jaws.
The edges around the box lock
have distinct non-catch bevels,
preventing fraying of suture
material.
Finger Rings are well rounded and
polished for better "feel" and
prevention of finger fatigue.
Each instrument is satin finished to
reduce glare.
Gold plated finger rings identify these
tungsten carbide instruments, and the
Miltex catalog number has been
etched on each needle holder to
facilitate re-ordering.
Carb-N-Sert Needle Holders are
specifically designed for precise
suturing, thereby facilitating the
surgeon's task.
