Vogue Exclusive Limited Warranty “A”
You are eligible for the benefits set forth below if you are the original
owner of any of the following Vogue tyres bearing our name and
serial numbers (“Tyres”) that have been used exclusively on the
passenger car on which they were originally installed:
Custom Built Radial White/Gold 235/55R17 99H
235/50R18 101V
245/40R20 99V
P225/60R16 97S
These benefits are available only for Tyres that were purchased on
or after January 1, 2012 and used by you in the 50 United States
and Canada.
1. Limited Warranty. Vogue warrants exclusively to you that
the Tyres will be free from defects in materials and workmanship.
If any Tyre becomes unusable due to a breach of this limited
warranty during the first 4/32” of the Tyre’s original tread life, as
measured by the depth of tread remaining, Vogue will replace
the Tyre with a comparable new Vogue tyre at no charge. Such
replacement will also be made for any ride complaints or cosmetic
defects caused by a breach of this limited warranty during the first
2/32” of the Tyre’s original tread life. If any Tyre becomes unusable
after the first 4/32” of the Tyre’s original tread life due to a breach
of this limited warranty, Vogue will give you a credit against the
purchase price of a comparable new Vogue tyre based on the
percentage of the depth of the Tyre’s tread then remaining. You
will be responsible for any related charges including installation
or other labor, taxes, etc. Warranty claims are valid for 60 months
starting from the date of manufacture stamped on the Tyre. This
paragraph sets forth Vogue’s entire and exclusive obligations for
any breach of this limited warranty. Such obligations will be
subject to the conditions described under Causes Not Covered,
Requirements, Scope of Obligations, and Limits on Liability
stated below.
2. Credit for Mileage Expectancy. Every new Tyre is built to
deliver an expected tread life (until worn to depth indicators
3
2/32”) of at least 80,000 miles for “S” speed rated passenger Tyres
and 40,000 miles for “H” or “V” speed rated passenger Tyres. If a
Tyre wears down to its original tread depth indicators (2/32”) evenly
across the tread surface before delivering the expected miles, Vogue
will give you a credit against the purchase price of a comparable new
Vogue tyre based on the mileage not received (determined by the
odometer reading).
3. Road Hazard Assistance. If any Tyre is damaged beyond
repair due to a road hazard, Vogue will give you a credit against
the purchase price of a comparable Vogue tyre, based either on
the applicable minimal mileage amount set forth in paragraph 2
above not yet received or the percentage of the original tread depth
remaining to the 2/32” indicators, whichever is more advantageous
to you. A minimum charge of $25 (plus labor, taxes, etc.) will be
made for all such Tyre replacements.
4. Road Service Assistance. If any Tyre loses air for any reason
to the extent that it cannot be driven to a nearby service station for
repair, Vogue will, in addition to any remedies provided above:
a. Pay for your road service, from the nearest service point, to
replace the Tyre with a spare tire; or ($50.00 maximum)
b. Pay for the cost to repair the flat Tyre ($10 maximum).
Causes Not Covered. Vogue’s obligations under paragraphs 1-2
above do not cover or apply to unusability, defects or wear caused by
the use of improper rim widths, improper inflation, misalignment,
overloading, the mechanical condition of the vehicle, racing, chain
damage, fire, theft, highway conditions, wreck, collision, willful
abuse, repairable punctures, faulty installation other than by Vogue
personnel or other such conditions beyond Vogue’s control. Also
not covered is ozone or weather cracking on the Tyres more than
5 years after the production date. Vogue recommends using a soft
brush with a non-abrasive cleaner such as Vogue Whitewall Cleaner
4
for cleansing. The use of harsh or abrasive cleaning agents,
chemicals containing bleach, wire brushes, steel wool or other
such implements may damage the Tyre sidewall and will negate
Vogue’s obligations under paragraphs 1 and 2. Vogue reserves the
right to not deem worn for purposes of the above provisions tread
which, in our opinion, has been prematurely worn due to abusive
use and/or service conditions.
Requirements: To have any Tyre replaced or receive a credit
in accordance with the above provisions, you must present the
affected Tyre and a signed, duly filled out Vogue claim form at
a Vogue dealer or service store. You may identify such a dealer
or store and obtain such form by contacting Vogue at its address
or number set forth below. You will be required to pay for any
services, labor and applicable sales or other taxes. Claims under
paragraphs 1-4 above are only valid for and must be submitted
within 60 months starting from the date of manufacture stamped
on the Tyre.
Tyre Care & Maintenance
Custom Built ®
Radial Passenger
Vehicle & SUV/Light Truck Tyres
TYRE CARE
The easiest way to help ensure top mileage and performance
from your Vogue® Custom Built® Radials is to give them a simple,
periodic inspection for proper inflation, tread wear, and the
presence of any damage.
INFLATION
PROPER INFLATION: Inflation pressure should be checked
as often as possible. Because radial tyres bulge at the sidewalls
naturally, a visual inspection is not sufficient. The tyres must
be checked with an accurate tyre inflation gauge. ALWAYS
CHECK THE INFLATION PRESSURE WHEN THE TYRES
ARE COLD. Driving even a mile builds up heat in the tyre and
increases the pressure reading.
Never bleed air from a tyre that has been running.
The pressure reading will be inaccurate, and you will most probably
end up with an under inflated tyre. BUT NEVER INFLATE ABOVE
THE MAXIMUM LISTED ON THE SIDEWALL OF THE TYRE.
Also, never exceed the luggage and passenger capacity limit for your
automobile.
10
UNDERINFLATION: Although not always apparent because of
natural radial sidewall bulge, underinflation can lead to serious
tyre damage. Underinflation allows the tyre sidewalls to flex much
more than normal, causing a great build-up of heat, the primary
destroyer of tyres. Enough heat build-up combined with excess
flexing, can cause deterioration of rubber compounds, separation
and decreased resistance to road hazards. Even slight under
inflation causes unsafe steering and increased uneven wear to the
outside tread ribs as the tread bows inward under load. Gasoline
mileage suffers also because of the increased rolling resistance of
an underinflated tyre.
NOTE: Refer to car owners manual for recommended tyre
inflation to maintain.
CAUSES OF ABNORMAL TREAD WEAR
IMPROPER INFLATION & MECHANICAL CONDITION OF VEHICLES
EXAMPLES OF MISALIGNMENT AND WORN PARTS
MECHANICAL CONDITION OF VEHICLE: When tyre wear or
damage conditions result from a mechanical irregularity of the vehicle,
such irregularity should be corrected. This is especially important with
radial tyres where, because of their longer tread life, vehicle mechanical
problems significantly reduce the tyre tread wear potential.
ALIGNMENT: Alignment is a mechanical adjustment to the suspension,
steering, and other related parts. On front wheel drive vehicles both the
front and rear of the vehicle may require periodic alignment. The alignment
on your car should be checked at each tyre rotation. In addition, you should
visually check your tyres between rotations for any unusual or uneven wear
of the tread.
CARELESS DRIVING PRACTICES: Fast cornering, “Jack rabbit” starts,
sudden stops, excessive braking, riding edge of pavement, and high speeds
all tend to wear away tread rubber rapidly.
ROAD SURFACES: Road surfaces affect tyre wear. A rough surfaced road
will cause a tyre to wear more rapidly than a road with a very smooth surface.
SQUEALING TYRES ARE A WARNING: When tyres squeal, they’re sliding
or slipping. Some factors which induce the tyre squeal: underinflation, speed,
road surface, topography, temperature, and driving too fast on curves and
around corners. The latter practice also causes abnormal wear in the shoulder
area of the tyre.
OVERINFLATION
Overinflation reduces the cushion effect that pneumatic tyres enjoy. This
causes the tyre to ride hard, resulting in less resistance to impact, damage to
the cords and reduced protection to front end components involving steering
and wheel alignment. Overinflation also bulges the center of the tread
outward, causing excessive wear to the middle of the tread.
INFLATION: It is normal that a tyre and wheel assembly lose a small amount
of air pressure over a period of time. This loss is normally not great enough to
be visually noticeable. However, a loss of as little as 10% of the recommended
inflation pressure can cause uneven tread wear and a change in the handling
characteristics of the vehicle. Inflation checks should be made periodically.
Unusual or hard driving conditions would be a reason to check inflation
pressure more frequently.
11
TREADWEAR INSPECTION
Periodic inspection of tread wear patterns lets you head off tyre
trouble before it gets too serious, and in addition can also tell you
about the mechanical condition of your car. Even wear lets you
know your tyres are balanced properly, and that your alignment and
steering are correctly adjusted. Wear bars, which indicate the end
of the safe and useful life of the tread pattern, are manufactured into
the tyre to appear when 2/32” of tread is left. At this point it is time
to replace the tyre. In several states, in fact, driving with wear bars
showing level with the tread can make you subject to citation and
fine. Watch for uneven wear patterns such as more tread gone on
one side than the other, irregular ”cupping” and scuffing of the tread
to one side. These indicate problems with tyre balance or shock
absorbers, front end or steering mechanism misalignment, or driving
habits that could prove dangerous to your tyres and yourself as well.
IMMEDIATELY HAVE YOUR TYRES, SHOCK ABSORBERS,
AND FRONT END CHECKED IF YOU SUSPECT UNEVEN
TREAD WEAR.
12
ROTATION OR REMOVAL (SEE FIG. 1)
Tyres should be rotated in an “X” pattern at least every 5,000 miles
of actual mileage. Front wheel drive vehicles carry a much heavier
load on the front tyres than on the rear tyres. They also do the
bulk of the work – steering, braking, accelerating. Under normal
conditions the front tyres on these vehicles will wear out at a faster
rate than the rear tyres. The owner of a front wheel drive vehicle
should be particularly alert to the importance of frequent rotations
at low mileage intervals.
Fig. 1
WHEN TO REPLACE TYRES (SEE FIG. 2)
When removing radial tyres for any reason, several precautions
should be taken. Tyre position should be marked so that proper
rotation can be maintained. The tyres should be kept away
from direct sunlight, electrical motors and appliances which
generate ozone which is harmful to the tyres. Always check
pressure with an inflation gauge after remounting and inflate to
recommended pressure. Tyres should be replaced if any of the
following conditions exist: when wear bars are showing (2/32”
of tread left); if wear has been severely uneven; when punctures
not permanently repairable have been discovered; when cracks,
cuts or snags deep enough to expose body cords are discovered
on the sidewalls; or if a visual inspection reveals any bumps,
bulges, knots, or separations of plies. A periodic inspection and
an immediate professional check if suspension signs are found
are your best assurances of getting the utmost life, service and
economy from your Vogue® Custom Built® Radial Tyres.
TYRE CARE AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE/IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
SAFETY WARNING: Serious injury may result from tyre
underinflation/overloading.
DO MAINTAIN PROPER INFLATION PRESSURE IN YOUR
TYRES. Proper inflation pressure is necessary for optimum tyre
performance, safety and best fuel economy. To maintain proper
inflation pressure, frequently check tyres (when they are cool) with an
accurate tyre pressure gauge.* For example, it is difficult to tell just by
looking at radial tyres whether they are underinflated.
Always maintain inflation pressure at the level recommended by the
manufacturer. Underinflation is the most common cause of failures
in any kind of tyre and may result in unexpected loss of vehicle control
and accident. Furthermore, when operating a vehicle equipped with
radial tyres, it may be difficult to notice when a tyre has gone flat or
near flat since the “feel” may not change significantly.
*Evidence of air loss or repeat underinflation requires tyre removal and
expert inspection.
DON’T OVERLOAD YOUR VEHICLE. Check your vehicle
owner’s manual to determine the load limits. Overloading your
vehicle places extra stress on your tyres and other critical vehicle
components. Overloading can cause tyre failure. Overloading a
vehicle can also cause poor handling and increase fuel consumption.
DON’T SPIN YOUR TYRES EXCESSIVELY. Avoid excessive
tyre spinning when your vehicle is stuck in snow, ice, mud,
or sand. Never exceed 35 mph indicated on the speedometer.
SAFETY WARNING: The centrifugal forces generated by a free
spinning tyre / wheel assembly may cause sudden tyre explosion
resulting in vehicle damage and / or serious personal injury to you and
a bystander. Use a gentle backward and forward rocking motion to
free your vehicle for continued driving. Never stand near or behind a
tyre spinning at high speed, as for example, while attempting to push a
16
vehicle that is stuck or when an on-the-car spin balance machine is
in use.
DO CHECK YOUR TYRES FOR WEAR. Always remove tyres
from service when they reach (1/16”) remaining tread depth.
All new tyres have treadwear indicators which appear as smooth
bands in the tread grooves when they wear to the (1/16”) level.
Many wet weather accidents result from skidding on bald or
nearly bald tyres. Excessively worn tyres are more susceptible to
penetrations.
DO CHECK YOUR TYRES FOR DAMAGE. Frequent inspection
of your tyres for signs of damage and their general condition is
important for safety. If you have any questions, have your tyre
dealer inspect them. Impacts, penetrations or air loss always
require tyre removal and expert inspection.
DON’T ATTEMPT TO MOUNT YOUR OWN TYRES.
SAFETY WARNING: Serious injury may result from explosion of
tyre/rim assembly due to improper mounting procedures. There are
a number of serious injuries encountered each year as a result of
tyre mounting accidents.
DON’T MIX TYRES OF DIFFERENT SIZES AND TYPES ON
THE SAME AXLE. If radial and non-radials must be fitted to
same vehicle, fit radials on rear axle. If tyres of different profiles
must be fitted, fit widest tyres on rear axle. Always consult vehicle
manufacturer and check vehicle/tyre clearance.
DO REGISTER YOUR TYRES. Ask the tyre dealer to assist you
in filling out the Vogue pre-addressed, mail-in tyre registration
certificate. Affix postage and send in so that we can contact you if
it becomes necessary for recall or safety advisory.
