For new development, it is most likely that the requirements of PPS25 will ensure that climate
change adaptation is taken into account when designing the surface water management
system for the proposed development. As with the indicative SuDS sizings given above, all
drainage design for new developments should include an allowance for climate change, in
accordance with the requirements of PPS25 and any subsequent National Policy Statements.
