Maintenance & Cleaning
DO’S and DON’TS
DO’S
Do adhere to suggested routine for cleaning schedule.
Do review schedule of cleaning based upon usage and times of year.
Chewing Gum
Discarded chewing gum should be dealt with promptly before becoming hardened and engrained into the carpet
surface. It can be removed using freeze spray technology or by use of proprietary gum removing gels, and
subsequently scraped out of the carpet pile.
Spot Cleaning
Stubborn stains should be treated on a localised basis with a solvent-based spot remover, of which several are
available in the market place.
Wet Spillages
Operation & Maintenance Manual
Do ensure that dirt, grit, or any loose objects are removed from mat gaps, as accumulation of such
dirt may cause mat to rise and present a trip hazard.
Do observe maximum Load bearing statistics, which are provided.
Do obtain professional help from our Technical Help desk for advice when attempting to make repairs to
damaged components or mat.
Do observe appropriate Manual Handling Techniques upon lifting and removal of mats from matwell.
Do replace mat fixing clips upon replacement of mats to matwell.
Do concentrate cleaning on areas of heaviest use.
Do, upon removal of mat, inspect condition of matwell for signs of possible screed failure or break up.
DONT’S
Do not use counter rotating brush type vehicular cleaning machinery.
Do not use orbital type polishing equipment over matting.
Do not use any bleaching cleaning agents, use instead PH neutral.
Smaller wet spillages can be soaked up using any high absorbent material. Larger spillages can be dealt with either
by utilising a wet pick up vacuum cleaner. Alternatively remove the mat, stand up right and leave to dry in a well
ventilated and airy area.
