1.1 2011/12 Priorities<br />

In line with HDC’s vision and Statement of<br />

Intent 2011/12–2013/14, the key priorities for<br />

the HDC for the 2011/12 year were to:<br />

• maintain high quality and timely<br />

complaints resolution processes<br />

• focus on organisational capability<br />

• maintain professional standards through<br />

bringing proceedings in appropriate cases<br />

• continue to support the work of the<br />

nationwide Health and Disability<br />

Advocacy Service<br />

• continue to work in partnership with<br />

other relevant agencies in the health<br />

and disability sector<br />

• communicate with key stakeholders to<br />

ensure that our educational initiatives<br />

are effective<br />

• offer services and processes that are<br />

accessible to disability service consumers,<br />

Maori, Pacifi c peoples, refugee and other<br />

ethnic communities<br />

• maintain HDC’s high profi le in both the<br />

health and disability sectors.<br />
