16. Commitments and operating leases Advocacy Service contracts The maximum commitment for the 12 months from 1 July 2012 is $3,595,998 (2011: $3,539,998). A portion of the total non-cancellable operating lease expense relates to the lease of these two offi ces. The Auckland offi ce lease has been renewed with a new lease expiry date in June 2017 and the Wellington lease expires in April 2015. Contingent liabilities As at 30 June 2012 there were no contingent liabilities (2011 $Nil). Contingent assets The Health and Disability Commissioner has no contingent assets (2011 $Nil).
