What is the basic information that should be on the label of any<br />
seed?<br />
The basic information should be; species name (botanical or local name),<br />
date of collection/processing, testing date, germination percentage, purity<br />
percentage, origin or seed source (location/provenance), seed source type,<br />
number of trees collected from, weight of the seed and name of the seed<br />
collector.<br />

Documentation gives seed an identity, allows traceability and removes<br />
the burden of memorizing details during all stages of seed production,<br />
handling, distribution and use. It also builds consumer confidence.<br />
