DESCRIPTION 

NAT ORGANIC PLUM OIL is obtained by cold pressing the almond of the dehydrated plum (Prunus 

domestica L.), grown in the Gascony area in France, and is then filtered. 

The organic plum oil is composed of approx. 70% of Oleic acid and 20% of Linoleic acid (Omega 6). It 

contains 0.5 % of unsaponifiable matters and has high tocopherol content, thus showing a high oxidative 

stability. 

NAT ORGANIC PLUM OIL has soothing, nourishing, moisturizing and emolliency properties. It helps 

reconstructing the sebum and rebuilding the barrier function of the skin consequently lessening the TEWL. It 

is especially indicated for mature and dry skins. 

NAT ORGANIC PLUM OIL is a non-genetically modified material that contains no preservative. It has not 

been tested on animals.

NAT ORGANIC PLUM OIL has an excellent feel, spreads easily and penetrates the skin quickly, leaving it 

dry and silky. 

Its characteristic odor of bitter almond imparts the end products with a unique marzipan fruity flavor in tune 

with the actual cosmetic trends.

DESCRIPTION 

NAT GASCONY PLUM BUTTER is obtained from the oil of cold pressed plum (Prunus domestica L.) grown in Gascony area in 

France. 

During the production of the dehydrated plum, the almond acquires a delicate sweet smell of bitter almond as found with marzipan. A 

fragrant oil can be obtained, and the butter made from this oil is also delicately fragranced, in tune with the current cosmetic trends. 

THE COLD PRESSED PLUM KERNEL OIL 

The prune kernel oil is obtained by cold pressing the almond of the kernel of the dehydrated Gascony plum (Prunus domestica L.), 

which is then filtered. 

The prune oil is composed of around 70% of Oleic acid and 20% of linoleic acid (Omega 6). It contains 0.5 % of unsaponifiable 

matters and has high tocopherol content, thus showing a high oxidative stability. 

This cold pressed oil has softening, nourishing, moisturizing and emolliency properties. It is especially indicated for mature and dry 

skins. 

USE OF THE GASCONY PLUM BUTTER 

NAT GASCONY PLUM BUTTER retains a large fraction of the unsaturated free fatty acids found in the oil and therefore provides 

noticeable advantages to the skin. 

It easily spreads on the skin and penetrates quickly whilst imparting a slightly shinning effect. It moisturizes the skin and has 

nourishing and softening effects. 

NAT GASCONY PLUM BUTTER is a non-genetically modified material that contains no preservative. It has not been tested on 

animals.

DESCRIPTION 

NAT GASCONY PLUM SCRUB is obtained by grinding the kernels of plums (Prunus domestica L.) grown in 

the French Gascony area to standardised non-aggressive particles. During the process of fabrication of the 

prune, the kernel acquires a delicate smell well known in pastries (marzipan). This smell comes out in the 

powder, giving finished products a very appetizing fragrance, in tune with today's trend. 

This natural scrub agent is compatible with all cosmetic formulations. 

COSMETIC USE 

NAT GASCONY PLUM SCRUB is suggested as a soft scrub for every type of skin, and for all kinds of skin 

care applications. 

Added to a cleansing product, NAT GASCONY PLUM SCRUB removes the superficial, dead horny layers of 

the stratum corneum by mechanical action, cleanses in depth the skin from the dust and tiny debris, and 

stimulates the micro-blood circulation. It leaves the skin soft with a neat and clean appearance.

NAT PISTACHIO BUTTER 


DESCRIPTION 

NAT PISTACHIO BUTTER is obtained from refined cold pressed Pistachio oil. 

THE REFINED COLD PRESSED PISTACHIO OIL 

The pistachio oil is obtained by cold pressing the seeds of the pistachio tree (Pistacia vera L.) originating in the Middle 

East, which is then filtered. This oil is currently used in the food industry for its potent aroma. The balanced composition 

of oleic acid (50%) and linolenic acid (40%) similar to that of Olive oil, imparts nourishing and emollient properties very 

interesting for cosmetic products. 

Oleic acid is known for its affinity to the intercorneocyte cement. This makes it easy for the nourishing or active 

substances to go through the hydro lipidic film and as such can be considered as a booster of the skin bioavailability. 

The linoleic acid, precursor of the ceramid synthesis, is particularly adapted to the care of dry or mature skins. It is known 

for re-fatting and boosting of the intercorneocyte cement. It has soothing and calming properties on sensitive and irritated 

skins. The linoleic acid is also a natural inhibitor agent of the 5 alpha-reductase enzyme involved in the seborrhoea 

secretion, responsible for greasy and dull skins. 

The pistachio oil is also rich in beta-sitosterol (80 mg/100g), an unsaponifiable component known for its anti-inflammatory 

and soothing properties. 

USE OF THE PISTACHIO BUTTER 

NAT PISTACHIO BUTTER retains a large fraction of the unsaturated free fatty acids found in the oil and therefore 

provides noticeable advantages to the skin. 

It easily spreads on the skin and penetrates quickly whilst imparting a matte effect. It moisturizes the skin and, like the oil, 

has nourishing and softening effects. 

NAT PISTACHIO BUTTER is a non-genetically modified material that contains no preservative. It has not been tested on 

animals.

Oxidative Stability of Pistachio and Plum Butters (*) (**) 

(*) These butters were developed by NATUROCHIM S.A.S. and are available under the following commercial names, 

respectively: NAT PISTACHIO BUTTER, and NAT GASCONY PLUM BUTTER. They are 

manufactured using a process unique to NATUROCHIM S.A.S and correspond to precise specifications. 

(**) This study was performed by an independent laboratory. The full report is available under confidentiality agreement 

Purpose: the purpose of the study concerns the oxidative stability assessment of pistachio and plum 

butters. The oxidative stability indices (OSI) of the butters were determined according the standardized method 

NF ISO 6886. The principle of the method is based on the accelerated oxidation of a compound in drastic 

conditions of temperature and air concentration. In the study, the oxidative stability is compared to linseed 

(LSO) and meadowfoam (MDO) oils respectively taken as negative and positive controls. 

Methods: before performing oxidative tests, each oil is characterized according to the standardized methods 

usually carried out in lipid chemistry, including fatty acid distribution, pour points, iodine and acid values. OSI 

determinations were performed at 98°C with an air flow velocity of 20 l/h. 

Results: the oxidative stability of lipids is generally correlated to their iodine value and especially to their 

relative composition in mono-unsaturated (e.g. oleic) and polyunsaturated (e.g. linoleic and linolenic) fatty acid 

content. On the other hand, the rate of air oxidation is proportional to the number of carbon-carbon double 

bonds in the fatty acid chain. Actually, the oxidation rate of linolenic acid is significantly higher than that of oleic 

acid. Among the lipids tested in the study, it appears that LSO which is rich in linolenic acid (≈ 48%) is the less 

resistant to oxidation. MDO is recognized as one of the most stable vegetable oils 1 . MDO is mainly composed of 

gadoleic acid (≈ 61%), a mono-unsaturated long chain fatty acid that is more resistant to air oxidation than oleic 

acid 1 . It is clear that MDO is taken in the study as positive control. Moreover, mango butter is recognized as 

very stable seed butter. From a theoretical standpoint, the vegetable oils and butters included in the study can 

be classified according their expected oxidative stability in the following order: 

MDO > Seed oil butters (mango, pistachio, plum) >> LSO

The OSI time values obtained in the test, that are considered as oxidative stability indices, allow classifying the 

lipids as follows:

Plum butter and meadowfoam oil present the same resistance to air oxidation with very high OSI times close to 

70 hours. 

Pistachio butter is slightly less stable than mango. But we note that pistachio butter is richer in polyunsaturated 

acid than mango (19% vs. 6% linoleic acid). As a reminder, linoleic acid is well known for its relative instability to 

oxygen. 

From a physical point view, plum, pistachio and passion butters present high pour point (> 60°C) compared to 

mango. High pour points prevent liquid oil release with temperature and are physically more stable. Finally, 

plum, pistachio and passion butters can be classified as linoleic acid sources, a fatty acid that is involved in 

ceramids synthesis and skin homeostasis.

DESCRIPTION 

NAT HAZELNUT T OIL, or toasted hazelnut oil, is obtained by cold pressing the fruits of a variety of the hazelnut tree 

(Corylus Avellana L.), particularly well adapted to the South Western of France where it is grown. 

Before pressing, the fruits are slightly dry-toasted hence the unique praline-like fragrance of the oil, in tune with the 

current cosmetic trends. 

NAT HAZELNUT T OIL is composed of approx. 70% of Oleic acid and 18% of Linoleic acid (Omega 6). It contains 

approx. 0.5 % of unsaponifiable matters – mostly beta sitosterol with anti-inflammatory properties – along with a high 

tocopherol content thus showing a high oxidative stability. 

NAT HAZELNUT T OIL has nourishing, moisturizing and emolliency properties. It helps reconstructing the sebum and 

rebuilding the barrier function of the skin consequently lessening the transepidermal water loss (TEWL). It is especially 

indicated for mature and dry skins. 

NAT HAZELNUT T OIL is a non-genetically modified material that contains no preservative. It has not been tested on 

animals.

THE ORGANIC COLD PRESSED ALMOND OIL 

The organic sweet almond oil is obtained by cold pressing the seed of the Almond (Prunus amygdalus dulcis Mill.), and then is 

filtered. 

Sweet almond oil has high oleic acid content. It also contains unsaponifiable matter and tocopherols that give it a high oxidative 

stability. 

Sweet almond oil has been used since ancient times for its softening properties and the velvety aspect it gives the skin. It is a good 

emollient and nourishes the skin. It protects it from drying by rebuilding the skin barrier. It is especially indicated for mature and 

irritated skins. 

USE OF THE PREMIUM ORGANIC ALMOND BUTTER

Procedure: 

PHASE A 

1. In the mixer heat the purified water to 80°C. 

2. Add under agitation the mix prepared in advance with : 

- GLYCERINE 

- RHODICARE S 

3. Shake up to obtain an homogeneous mix. 

PHASE B 

4. In the heater mix the following ingredients and heat to 75°C: 

- PHYTOCREAM 2000 


- LANETTE O OR 

- LANETTE 16 

- CETIOL CC 

- MYRITOL 318 

- DUB MUG 

EXFOLIATING FACE CREAM 

5. When the 2 phases – A & B – have reached the required temperature, introduce very slowly 

the mix from the heater into the mixer. 

6. Mix 10 minutes until homogeneous and let it cool. 

7. At 50°C add : GEOGARD 221 

8. Mix 5 minutes until homogeneous and add : NAT GASCONY PLUM SCRUB 40 

9. At 40°C add the perfume. 

10. Mix during 5 minutes and adjust the pH to 5,6 with the help of a 10% sodium hydroxide 

solution or a 50% citric acid solution.
