Description: The PowerPlex ® 16 HS System is a multiplex STR system for<br />
use in DNA typing. This system co-amplifies the loci D18S51, D21S11, TH01,<br />
D3S1358, Penta E (labeled with fluorescein); FGA, TPOX, D8S1179, vWA and<br />
Amelogenin (labeled with TMR); and CSF1PO, D16S539, D7S820, D13S317,<br />
D5S818 and Penta D (labeled with JOE). This multiplex includes all 13 CODIS<br />
STR markers, Amelogenin for gender determination and two low-stutter, highly<br />
discriminating pentanucleotide STR markers. All sixteen loci are amplified simultaneously<br />
in a single tube and analyzed in a single injection. The PowerPlex ®<br />
16 HS System is compatible with ABI PRISM ® 310, 3100 and 3100-Avant<br />
Genetic Analyzers and Applied Biosystems 3130, 3130xl, 3500 and 3500xL<br />
Genetic Analyzers.<br />
Features:<br />
• Robustness: The PowerPlex ® 16 HS System is more tolerant of PCR<br />
inhibitors than competing STR systems and the previous version of<br />
PowerPlex ® 16. Generate profiles with samples that previously failed to<br />
amplify. Avoid costly and time-consuming sample cleanup.<br />
• Sensitivity: Each lot is quality tested to produce full profiles from 100pg<br />
of DNA. Gain confidence in analysis of limited samples.<br />
• High Discrimination: The loci included in the PowerPlex ® 16 HS System<br />
are more discriminating than competitive systems and are ideal for resolving<br />
partial matches or challenging familial cases.<br />
• Proven Design: Primer sequences, dyes and ladders are all unchanged<br />
from PowerPlex ® 16. Expect concordance with existing databases.<br />
• Complete System: The PowerPlex ® 16 HS System includes size standard,<br />
amplification-grade water and Taq DNA polymerase in the master mix.<br />
Simple to order, easy to use.<br />
• Automatic Assignment of Genotypes: Panels and bins text files are<br />
required for automatic assignment of genotypes using the GeneMapper ®<br />
ID and ID-X software and are available for download.<br />

Description: The PowerPlex ® 16 System is a multiplex STR system for use in<br />
DNA typing, including paternity testing, forensic DNA analysis, human identity<br />
testing and tissue culture strain identification. The system allows co-amplification<br />
and three-color detection of sixteen loci (fifteen STR loci and Amelogenin):<br />
Penta E, D18S51, D21S11, TH01, D3S1358, FGA, TPOX, D8S1179, vWA, Amelogenin,<br />
Penta D, CSF1PO, D16S539, D7S820, D13S317 and D5S818. One<br />
primer for each of the Penta E, D18S51, D21S11, TH01 and D3S1358 loci is<br />
labeled with fluorescein (FL); one primer for each of the FGA, TPOX, D8S1179,<br />
vWA and Amelogenin loci is labeled with carboxy-tetramethylrhodamine<br />
(TMR); and one primer for each of the Penta D, CSF1PO, D16S539, D7S820,<br />
D13S317 and D5S818 loci is labeled with 6-carboxy-4´,5´-dichloro-2´,7´dimethoxy-fluorescein<br />
(JOE). All sixteen loci are amplified simultaneously in a<br />
single tube and analyzed in a single injection or gel lane.<br />
The PowerPlex ® 16 System is compatible with the ABI PRISM ® 310, 3100 and<br />
3100-Avant Genetic Analyzers, Applied Biosystems 3130 and 3130xl Genetic<br />
Analyzers and ABI PRISM ® 377 DNA Sequencer.<br />
Features:<br />
• Single Amplification: Amplify all 13 CODIS STR loci in one reaction.<br />
• Maximum Sensitivity: Analyze minute quantities of DNA. The system<br />
is optimized for use with 1ng of DNA; however, each lot is performance<br />
