The room that functions well 

The secret behind the Pressalit Care system’s flexibility is 

the track. In an easy and logical way, the bathroom can be 

designed for the individual user, regardless of illness, disability 

or physical limitations. 

The track makes it both easier for the user to be more independent 

and easier for the carer to help: easier to prepare 

the room, easier to make space, easier to help the user move 

around, and easier to combine the use of the bathroom’s 

functions. Finally, the track gives the opportunity to redesign 

small and poorly designed rooms. The products can be moved 

easily to where they are needed – or they can be moved aside 

to make more room. 

The means of achieving such flexibility is called teamwork. 

Everyone pursues the same objective. Pressalit Care’s products 

are created through teamwork and co-operation. The users’ 

and carers’ experiences are combined with Pressalit Care’s 

development competencies and studies in human movement 

patterns and spatial needs. The objective is a better life for 

people with physical disabilities, a better working environment 

for health care personnel and a better long-term solution for 

the management that invests in facilities. We have summed 

up our philosophy in two words: keep living.

Track, bracket and connecting components 

give strength and stability. 

Anodised aluminium 

Aluminium is both light and easy to shape. The anodising 

process protects the surface and makes it strong. Anodised 

aluminium offers the opportunity to create solutions that 

are both functional and elegant. 

Rilsan-coated steel 

The white Rilsan on Pressalit Care Basic products is very 

resistant to knocks, wear and corrosion.

Synthetic materials with various qualities 

Contact surfaces such as seats, backrests and support arms 

offer softness, warmth and a slip-resistant safety. 

Two-component plastic 

The material gives a soft and slip-resistant 

surface on support arms and armrests. 

Polystyrene, PS plastic 

Front plates in a hard, stiff and scratchresistant 

material. 

Polyurethane foam 

This is used when soft and warm surfaces are 

required. As cellular plastic, the polyurethane is 

very easy to shape and is stabilised with a marine 

ply core. An elastic lacquer is used to provide the 

surface with colour and a protective covering. 

ABS plastic 

Plastic handrails are through-coloured and 

therefore scratch-resistant, and the material has 

a warm feel. 

Cleaning: All the products can be cleaned with ordinary soap and water – avoid aggressive cleaning agents. 

Colours 

Colours can serve to orient and guide a person and to create a contrast to the surroundings.

A hard and glossy material that can be

Pressalit Care is a product and interior design system that gives the 

freedom to plan a bathroom that answers the current needs precisely. 

With the track system, the design can be changed and expanded if 

the conditions change. Select the product and system according to 

the user situation.

An estimated 80% of all users need both vertical and horizontal adjustment because their physical situation changes: 

alternating between being independent and requiring assistance; switching between walking, sitting and lying down; 

having a progressive illness or in the case of a growing child. If in doubt about who will use the bathroom, choose 

products that can be adjusted both horizontally and vertically. 

Horizontal/vertical solution 

The horizontal and vertical solution gives the maximum 

flexibility and freedom in interior design. 

Horizontal solution 

The horizontal solution allows for sideways movement 

to create space for carers or to align products 

for independent use. 

Vertical solution 

The vertical solution allows for individual height 

adjustment – standing or sitting, child or adult. 

Fixed solution 

The product cannot be adjusted after mounting.

The vertical tracks are mounted at various heights, depending 

on the product. Height A is the distance from the 

floor to the top hole. Length B is the length of the track.

The height of the wash basin can be adjusted simply by 

using the lever control. The lever control is mounted at 

the end of a fixed rail which can provide support and 

function as a towel rail. 

The standard position of the operating lever is on the right 

side but it can also be placed on the left. 

The bracket allows the height of the wash basin to be 

adjusted by up to 300 mm. 

Also available with remote control instead of lever control. 

Electric with lever control – gently lift the lever control 

and the wash basin moves upwards. Gently depress the 

lever control and the wash basin moves down. 

Electric with remote control – the red buttons clearly

be critical to many people. The wash basin with a bracket powered by

wash basin. When the lock is released by lifting the lever, the 

wash basin becomes almost "weightless" and can be moved up

Operation 

The lever lock is lifted at the same time as the wash 

basin until there is an audible click. The height of the 

wash basin can now be set. When the lever is released, 

the lock will automatically engage and the basin is 

ready to use.

The wash basin with a manual bracket is suitable primarily for 

situations in which the height needs to be changed only occasionally. 

For more frequent changes and for users who need to both sit and 

stand, we recommend the bracket with either an electric motor or 

gas cylinder. The user cannot adjust the height of the manual wash 

basin bracket, as the full weight of the basin needs to be lifted to 

achieve adjustment.

The support arm’s oval shape (33 x 51 

mm) gives an easy and comfortable 

surface to lean and push against. 

The end of the support arm is enlarged 

so that it is easier to pull forward from a 

sitting position and also provides a clear 

sense of where the support arm ends. 

The surface material is soft and slipresistant, 

and it has a warm feel. 

Locking device: This works like a small spanner: Push to engage the 

locking pin and turn down to release the lock. Reposition the support 

arm, then turn the locking device up to relock. 

Spring: One version of the support arm has a built-in spring. The spring 

ensures that the support does not "fall" down from its vertical position, 

and it makes raising easier. A counterbalanced support arm can be 

raised and lowered with a sliding movement or in easy stages. 

Button lock: Three models are available with a push-button lock. A 

support arm that locks into place horizontally, one that locks vertically and 

one that locks in both positions. The horizontal lock ensures that the 

support arm does not rise when the user pulls forward. The vertical lock 

offers the standing user upright support – for example, men using the 

toilet. Will only be included if indicated on ordering. 

Flush buttons for 3 and 6-litre flushes. Single-hand operation by 

pressing green for a small flush or blue for a large flush. This remotely 

operates the flush function by infra-red signal. 


Good support arms can make standing and sliding transfers much 

easier while providing all-round sitting support. 

The shape, the choice of length and the carefully selected material 

all make Pressalit Care’s support arms rather special.

Rack system 

Mounting 

Boxes and shelves have a rim to ensure they sit 

securely in the rack. The boxes have holes so they can 

hang on the knobs. 

The knobs have been designed so that the towel’s 

hanging loop easily slips from the knob when the towel 

is given a tug.

Mounting kit for solid walls is included.

The boxes can be placed in the rack, on shelves or hung on the 

knobs. 

There are three types of racks, each mounted with four knobs 

that can be used for towels, or alternatively, they can be used for 

suspending boxes. 

The knobs can also be mounted directly on the wall and likewise 

used for towels or boxes. 

The individual user’s needs and requirements – and the tasks of 

any carer assisting in the bathroom – usually determine the unique 

positioning of toilet accessories in the bathroom. The rack – which 

is available in four versions – can be optionally combined with 

boxes, shelves and knobs. The rack system is suitable for the 

shower and beside the wash basin where it can be mounted on 

the wall or on the wash basin bracket.

Operation 

Adjusting the height of the rod: The locking device 

works like a small spanner: Push to engage the locking 

pin and turn down to release the lock. Reposition the 

rod, then turn the locking device up to relock. 

Adjusting the height of shelves and towel holder: 

The clamp under the shelf is released by turning counterclockwise. 

The shelf is moved up or down to the desired 

position. Set the shelf in place by turning the clamp 

clockwise until tight. 

The tray and baskets can be placed in the towel holder. 

The shelves and towel holder can be turned in towards 

the wall when not required.

The handrail from Pressalit Care is a system within a system. 

By means of a few components, it is possible to create an infinite 

number of individual solutions. The individual solutions can also be 

expanded into larger systems. The handrail from Pressalit Care can 

be used in any location where there is a need for extra support. 

The system is so flexible that wall fixing points can be 

set to match joints and beams to the wall’s bearing 

capacity (i.e., to studs in a partition wall). Since the rail 

connector (2A) can be opened, more rail can always be 

added to the existing handrail.
