Appendix A - Falcon Diagnostic Tool<br />

5. In the Test Selection window select the diagnostic tests to be performed.<br />

6. If you have an IP or IPN card installed on your MCU, one of the tests that is run is the<br />

LAN test. To complete the LAN test, you must fill-in the IP Test fields. For a<br />

description of completing the IP Test fields, see “IP Test Box” on page 1-72.<br />

7. Click Run.<br />

The test results appear in the Test Results pane. For a detailed description of the Test<br />

Summary pane, see “Test Results Pane” on page 1-72.<br />

Post Testing Procedure for <strong>MGC</strong>-<strong>25</strong> Units<br />

• After all the tests have been completed on an <strong>MGC</strong>-<strong>25</strong> unit, replace the ISDN<br />

Loopback cable with the standard ISDN cable.<br />

The test results appear dynamically in the Test Results pane as the tests run.<br />

To save the table that is displayed in the Tests Results window to the Falcon Logs<br />

folder:<br />

• In the Test Results pane, click the Save Summary button. The log is named using the<br />

MCU name, Slot ID, Card name, Unit, Processor and Word summary.<br />

To save the faults details as they appear in the Details box:<br />

• After the tests are completed, click the Save Details button in the Test Results pane.<br />

The Test Results, Faults and Summaries are saved together with the Log files in the folder<br />

designated for that purpose when the Log file path was set. These files can be sent to<br />

support personnel to help them understand any problems with the hardware that may<br />

appear after the diagnostics are run.<br />
