Appendix A - Falcon Diagnostic Tool<br />

Browser Pane<br />

Displays the MCUs defined in the <strong>MGC</strong> Manager application. Each MCU tree can be<br />

expanded to display the cards supported for diagnostic tests.<br />

Main Menu<br />

The Main Menu includes the MCU, Log and Help menus.<br />

Field Description<br />

MCU • Add MCU - To define a new MCU and add it to<br />

the MCU list. This option is required only for<br />

MCUs that are not currently defined in the <strong>MGC</strong><br />

Manager application.<br />

• Connect - Connects an MCU to the application.<br />

• Disconnect - To disconnect an MCU from the<br />

Falcon diagnostic tool, and resets the MCU to<br />

normal mode.<br />

• Reset MCU - To reset the MCU while remaining<br />

in the diagnostic mode.<br />

• Remove MCU - This option removes the MCU<br />

from the MCU list.<br />

• Properties - Lists the MCU properties: MCU<br />

Name, IP Address, Product Type (<strong>MGC</strong>-<strong>25</strong>/<strong>50</strong>/<br />

<strong>100</strong>), MCU Version, and the MCSM version.<br />

Log Contains the following options:<br />

• Set Log File Path - Enables you to select the<br />

folder where the log file will be saved.<br />

• Only Faults - Click this option to save only<br />

Faults in the Log file.<br />

Help Lists the following options:<br />

• About Falcon - Lists the Falcon diagnostic tool<br />

version.<br />

• Falcon Help - Provides On Line Help for the<br />

application.<br />

Test Options Box<br />

The Test Options box displays the modes for running tests.<br />

Field Description<br />

Loop Test Sets tests to repeat continuously in a loop mode.<br />

This provides continuous testing for these<br />

diagnostics.<br />

Stop on Failure In this mode tests are run continuously until a failure<br />

is detected. The diagnostic testing then stops.<br />

Quick Test Enables running tests that do not run longer than 5<br />

minutes. On the <strong>MGC</strong>-<strong>25</strong>, all tests run as they all<br />

take less than 5 minutes to run.<br />
