oncology candidates went on to win approval in late<br />
stage trials.<br />
Future:<br />
1) Things looking better because of companies<br />
going to desired patient population early on in<br />
testing (Ph I instead of Ph II and later) which is<br />
possible because of improvements in sequencing,<br />
better insights on the biologic pathways of cancer<br />
and advances in diagnostics and imaging.<br />
2) T-DM1 approval suggests that targeted chemotherapeutics<br />
are the next wave of innovative drugs.
