EARLY FIELD TRIAL Chapter 4 Errors Tab a 74 Sniffer Adaptive Application Analyzer The Errors tab (a) displays error statistics for the stream, including Fragments, Oversizes, Runts, Jabbers, CRC Errors, and Other errors. The various error counts can be charted on the Pie Chart and Column Chart tabs according to their Bytes values, but they cannot be filtered. NOTE: Columns cannot be added or deleted from this tab, as a result the extra columns are labeled . However, you can rearrange the columns by right-clicking in a body cell and using the Move Left and Move Right commands. 7 Figure 4-2. Errors Tab
EARLY FIELD TRIAL Using the Statistics Panel CRCs and Statistics Panel Packet Sizes vs. Postcapture Packet Sizes Packet size is reported differently in the Quick Select window than it is in postcapture Decode and Expert statistics. Postcapture Decode and Expert statistics do not take into account the CRC bytes attached to frames, while Statistics panel counters do. Because of this, postcapture views will show average frame sizes that are smaller than those reported in the Quick Select window. For Ethernet, the difference will be 4 bytes. User’s Guide 75
