EARLY FIELD TRIAL Using the Statistics Panel CRCs and Statistics Panel Packet Sizes vs. Postcapture Packet Sizes Packet size is reported differently in the Quick Select window than it is in postcapture Decode and Expert statistics. Postcapture Decode and Expert statistics do not take into account the CRC bytes attached to frames, while Statistics panel counters do. Because of this, postcapture views will show average frame sizes that are smaller than those reported in the Quick Select window. For Ethernet, the difference will be 4 bytes. User’s Guide 75
