66 Sniffer Adaptive Application Analyzer
The Capture Panel tab provides a summary of your current capture
configuration, as well as meters showing buffer usage and packet length
statistics. You can see at a glance how the compression achieved with
Adaptive Session Processing saves system memory.
The Capture Panel tab provides several main areas, as illustrated in
Figure 3-13.
Capture Configuration status indicators (a) show you the current
settings from the Configure Capture dialog box (refer to
Configuring and Starting Capture on page 111 for information on
setting these options):
Capture Type is either Adaptive or Raw.
Capture Buffer Size shows the currently configured size of
the capture buffer.
Raw Packet Slice Size shows you the current packet slice
size set in the Configure Capture Options dialog box. Refer to
Configuring and Starting Capture on page 111 for information
on how the slice size is used in both Adaptive and Raw capture
mode.
