This guide describes how to use Sniffer ® Adaptive Application Analyzer
in Adaptive mode. For information on the Classic mode, refer to the

You can use Sniffer Adaptive Application Analyzer in either Adaptive or
Classic mode, depending on which entry you select in the Start menu:
Adaptive Mode – Combines the familiar user interface of the
InfiniStream ® Console’s Quick Select window with a local Ethernet
interface and packet buffer (Figure 1-2). In addition, Adaptive
Intelligence condenses packet information for a range of
application types while augmenting it with session-awareness,
providing both the top-down view of a complete session as well as
its critical packet-level details.
Classic Mode – Provides all of the functionality traditionally
associated with NetScout’s Sniffer Portable Professional product,
including Wi-Fi support, real-time Expert, and full decodes.
NOTE: Adaptive and Classic modes have separate interfaces.
Although both interfaces can be open at the same time,
simultaneously monitoring/capturing data from the Adaptive and
Classic interfaces is not supported.
