courage of creation and the obsession for universal form the finest<br />
tradition of the Romanian romanticism’’ 1 .<br />
He was not destined to teach, but he had a vocation for universality,<br />
and he was unquestionably the greatest Romanian philosopher of the<br />
interwar period. Blaga remains for posterity, as he was known by the<br />
people who have been living for several years in his shadow, "having the<br />
grandeur of a Gothic cathedral” 2 .<br />
