In collaboration with <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong><br />
Vermont <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Animal</strong> Science, we<br />
provide education and support to an<br />
increasing number <strong>of</strong> <strong>sheep</strong> and goat <strong>dairy</strong><br />
farmers in <strong>the</strong> state. Many <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se farmers<br />
produce premium farmstead cheeses for<br />
which <strong>the</strong>re is growing demand.<br />
Services include:<br />
• Technical assistance to Vermont <strong>dairy</strong><br />
<strong>sheep</strong> and goat farmers.<br />
• New England Dairy/Meat Goat and Dairy<br />
Sheep Directory.<br />
• Workshops on cheese making, animal<br />
health and nutrition, grazing, and more.<br />
• Business planning assistance.<br />
• Farmer-to-farmer networking through<br />
discussion groups and pasture walks.<br />
