Pickup Into A Pole Crash In
Litchfield Injures One
On December 12th, Dispatcher
Boucher received a 911 call at reporting a
single vehicle crash at the intersection of
Derry Road and Cutler Road in Litchfield.
Toned to the scene at 23:55 were
Ambulance 2 with a crew of Firefighters
Berube and Cormier and Litchfield crews.
While companies were en-route Fire Alarm
updated that there was a person trapped in
the vehicle and there was a pole and wires
down. Litchfield Car 1 then requested
Londonderry’s Rescue to the scene.
When Litchfield units arrived at the
scene they reported the crash to be on
Cutler Road in the area of Candleridge
Circle. Arriving units also reported a single
vehicle, with a pole snapped and wires
down. After investigating it was
determined there was no entrapment. They
found that the downed wires were
hampering the patients removal.
Public Service was requested to the
scene and the road was closed. Crews used
a Tack Stick to ensure the power was off in
the lines. Crews found three other
occupants out of the vehicle with no injury
a forth patient remaining in the vehicle was
suffering a leg injury and was package by
crews and transported to a Nashua
Hospital. The call was placed under control
at 00:32.
Londonderry’s Rescue staged but was
not used and was returned a short time
after arrival. Litchfield crews remained on
the scene for sometime while a wrecker
removed the vehicle.
