1.2 Connecting Interface Cable
● Except for Bi-directional Communication, there is no need to change the default setting of the other
items for normal use. However, it might be necessary to make changes depending on the OS of each
host device.
1.2.2 Connecting by Ethernet Interface
Procedure
The types of Ethernet interface supported are as follows:
● 100Base-TX
● 10Base-T
By default, 100Base-TX and 10Base-T will be automatically interchanged.
The following procedure describes how to connect with the Ethernet interface.
1 Connect the interface cable to the
Ethernet interface connector.
Use only interface cable meant for the network connection
in use. To replace network cable, contact our Customer
Support Center.
2 Turn on the power of the machine.
1.2.3 Connecting by Token Ring Interface
The types of Token Ring interface supported are as follows:
● UTP
● STP
When the Token Ring interface board is installed, the Ethernet interface cannot be used.
● To set up the Token Ring, you will need the Token Ring Installation kit besides the Token Ring
interface board. The Token Ring Installation kit will be installed by our customer engineer. For
more details, please contact our Customer Support Center.
● When the Token Ring interface port is installed, the MAC address will be changed.
● When using gateway in Token Ring environment, set Source Routing to On.
