The distribution of the total and static pressure are represented in Fig. 5a and Fig. 5b, respectively. 4. Conclusions 1. The results of the analysis offer useful information regarding the variation of air parameters inside the heat exchanger. It can be observed that the mounting rods placed in the median line of the channel induce perturbations. 2. Because of the rods placed in the inlet and outlet sections of the flow channel, the air velocity decreases. Consequently, the static pressure of air increases upstream the rods while the downstream static pressure of air decreases. 3. The temperatures distribution is also influenced by the rods. Because the specific heat of rods material is higher than the specific heat of the air, the rods behave as thermal accumulators. Consequently, the air temperature around the rods is higher.
