and his Gael ; and Venta for <strong>the</strong> Capital <strong>of</strong><br />

his Cimbri in Wales, and <strong>of</strong> his Belg^E in<br />

Hampfiiire and Norfolk ; Urus or Ure, <strong>the</strong><br />

name <strong>of</strong> a river in Yorkfhire and Suffolk, and<br />

an appellative for a river in <strong>the</strong> Erfe at pre-<br />

fent '<br />

; and Alauna, Deva, and Devana, all<br />

three, rivers in <strong>the</strong> country equally <strong>of</strong> his Gael,<br />

his Belgce, and his Cimbri ; Novantes, a tribe<br />

<strong>of</strong> his Tidgx and his Gael ; <strong>the</strong> Damnonii - and<br />

Cantce among his Gael, and <strong>the</strong> Cantli and<br />

iDamnonii among his Belga? ; and one tribe <strong>of</strong><br />

his Gad, and two <strong>of</strong> his Belg^r, equally deno-<br />

minated Carnabii. And <strong>the</strong> manners <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> three<br />

\vere but little different.<br />

<strong>Mr</strong>. Macpherfon himfelf fliall convince us, that<br />

<strong>the</strong>re was no great difference. <strong>The</strong> m<strong>of</strong>b hu-<br />

manized <strong>of</strong> any <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> iilanders, <strong>the</strong> Belga?, are<br />
