cr<strong>of</strong>s <strong>the</strong> continent <strong>of</strong> Europe, we find <strong>the</strong>m<br />

at laft dwindled down into <strong>the</strong> Belgae, who had<br />

peyer been mentioned before, and to whom<br />

<strong>the</strong> preceding quotations, even as interpolated<br />

and garbled by <strong>Mr</strong>. Macpherfon's own inadver-<br />

tency and prejudice, have not <strong>the</strong> fmalleft refe-<br />

rence. Having through various pages engaged<br />

<strong>the</strong> Germans in incurfions which <strong>the</strong>y never<br />

made, and in ravages v/hich <strong>the</strong>y never committed,<br />

<strong>Mr</strong>. Macpherfon at lafl attributes <strong>the</strong>m<br />

10 a fmail body <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Germans, <strong>the</strong> Belgce,<br />

whole only incurfion was from <strong>the</strong> German to<br />
