conqueft to have retired from Gaul towards <strong>the</strong><br />

North, and <strong>the</strong> Geraian Celtae to have ravaged<br />

all <strong>the</strong> regions between <strong>the</strong> Rhine and <strong>the</strong> Ionian<br />

Sea ; but actually evinces <strong>the</strong> contrary, fhews<br />

<strong>the</strong> fpirit at this period to have been ftill very<br />

aftive in Gaul, and appropriates <strong>the</strong>fe ravages<br />

to <strong>the</strong> Native Celtfe.<br />
