nominated Deu-caledon or <strong>the</strong> Maritime Cale-<br />

donians, as <strong>the</strong> wefterly tribes <strong>of</strong> Gaiil were<br />

named Aremorici or <strong>the</strong> Gauls <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> fhore ; as<br />

a fmgle maritime people in Gaul and Britain<br />

was called Morini and Durotriges, ihe people <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Sea, or <strong>the</strong> inhabitants on <strong>the</strong> Water ; and<br />

as <strong>the</strong> Highlanders that live in a line along <strong>the</strong><br />

flaore <strong>of</strong> Scotland, in R<strong>of</strong>s, Su<strong>the</strong>rland, and Cath-<br />

nefs, are fometimes denominated by <strong>the</strong>ir inte-<br />

rior brethren An-Dua-Ghael, or <strong>the</strong> Water-<br />

<strong>Britons</strong>, to <strong>the</strong> prefent moment ^<br />

From this account it is plain, that <strong>the</strong> paflage<br />
