This is a very feeble argument, I think, and<br />

very fceblv pointed. It begins with a politive<br />

aflertion which is not true. And it ends with aa<br />

inference <strong>of</strong> renfon which is not juft. Though we<br />

have heard <strong>of</strong> 1 Comes Littoris Saxonici, and have<br />

not <strong>of</strong> a Comes Littoris Hibernici, yet it does not<br />

rhcnce follow that <strong>the</strong> Irifh did never invade <strong>the</strong><br />

fliores <strong>of</strong> Britain. We might not have heard <strong>of</strong><br />

rh.e one, and 5^et might <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r. And <strong>the</strong> Sax-
