dcnoch, as far as Invernefs. No colonies indeed
were fettled there, as none alfo were fettled in
V'alentia. Colonies were not the necelTary con-
fequence of abfolute conqueff. Stations only
were. And numerous flations were planted to
the North of the Friths, as Alauna, Lindum, and
