Licocene ® Adhesive Grades
The Licocene ® product line is composed
of an array of low viscosity polymers
created through a revolutionary
Clariant process.
This new process is highly flexible,
giving us the opportunity to design
new metallocene polymers that offer
adhesive formulators a toolbox of
backbone polymers, waxes, and
“tackifiers” with complete compatibility.
This is truly a new philosophy for
the formulation of hot melt adhesives.
Licocene ® Grades for Hotmelt Adhesives
For the first time, properties such as
melting point, viscosity, adhesion, and
cohesion can be selectively controlled
and tuned within a broad range. The
result: the opportunity to precisely
control physical and adhesion property
profiles. Imagine reducing the viscosity
of a hot melt adhesive without losing
heat resistance or cohesion. Licocene ®
can take formulating to a brand new
world. And this new world can be
expanded even more via modification
of Licocene ® grades by grafting with
such materials as maleic acid anhydrid,
silanes, and styrenes.
Licocene ® is now under full commercial
volume available. Rapidly rising
demands can be met by the newly
constructed full scale production
plant at Frankfurt Hoechst.
