CELEBRATING 20 YEARS - The PBR is celebrating 20 years of competition in 2013. PBR broadcasts reach<br />

over half a billion households in 50 nations and territories around the world, and over 2.5 million fans attend<br />

PBR events each year. PBR has awarded more than $120 million dollars in prize money over 20 years of<br />

competition, including a $1 million dollar bonus to the PBR World Champion each year.<br />

PBR <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong> <strong>Series</strong> has visited <strong>Sacramento</strong>, Calif.<br />

UP NEXT – The <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong> <strong>Series</strong> will travel down to Anaheim, Calif. for the LiftMaster Invitational,<br />

92.25 points on Priceless (D&H Cattle Company), a career-high ride, to pick up his first PBR <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong><br />

FORMAT – Each of the 35 riders will ride on Friday and Saturday. Following Round 2 on Saturday, up to 15<br />

riders will advance to the <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong> Championship Round. The championship round will have a<br />

minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 riders. <strong>Riders</strong> who have ridden two bulls will advance to compete with<br />

one more bull. In the event that fewer than 10 riders ride two bulls, the riders with the highest score or the<br />

longest buck-off time will advance. In the event that more than 15 riders ride two bulls, the 15 riders with the<br />

highest cumulative scores will advance. The overall event winner will be the rider with the highest combined<br />

score from all three rounds, earning $30,000 for first place.<br />

PBR 15/15 BUCKING BATTLE – The second PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle will be held immediately following<br />

Round 1 on Friday. The PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle features the Top 15 riders in the world competing against<br />

the 15 highest-ranked bulls at the event for an additional purse of $21,000. The bulls were each randomly<br />

assigned a position from 1-15. The riders were then matched with their bulls based upon their own current<br />

rankings in the BFTS standings. BFTS points will be doubled in the PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle, with the winner<br />

receiving 200 points and second place receiving 180 points, continuing on a graduated scale to 20 points for<br />

10th place. Points earned count toward the BFTS standings, but DO NOT count toward determining the event<br />

winner in Winston-Salem. If a rider fails to make a qualified ride, he does not receive any points or money.<br />

Bucking Battle (Jan. 18 at Winston-Salem, N.C.; Feb. 1 at <strong>Sacramento</strong>, Calif.; Feb. 23 at Kansas City, Mo.;<br />

April 6 at Billings, Mont.; April 20 at Des Moines, Iowa; Sept. 20 at Biloxi, Miss.; and Oct. 4 at Fayetteville,<br />

N.C.). The remaining two will be a randomly-selected bull in the <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong> Championship Round at the


Monster Energy Invitational in New York and the LiftMaster Invitational in Anaheim, Calif., on Feb. 8-10. The<br />

Monster Energy Money <strong>Bull</strong> begins at $6,000, and will continue to increase by $6,000 each time a rider fails to<br />

reach 8 seconds. The payout will also include the $3,000 from each time a rider does not reach 8 seconds on a<br />

POSSIBLE POINTS – There are 900 possible points available in <strong>Sacramento</strong> as the winner of the event will<br />

receive 300 points and each of the three round wins is worth 100 points plus the ride score.<br />

PBR BUILT FORD TOUGH WORLD FINALS – The <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong> <strong>Series</strong> season will conclude Oct.<br />

23–27 in Las Vegas with the PBR <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong> World Finals, where the PBR World Champion will be<br />

crowned and awarded a $1 million bonus. The richest bull riding event in the world, the World Finals has a total<br />

purse of more than $2 million.<br />

HEROES AND LEGENDS – The PBR Heroes & Legends Celebration Reception will be held from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at<br />

South Point, and will be immediately followed by the PBR Heroes & Legends Celebration from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The<br />

ceremony will include the induction of the 2013 Ring of Honor member(s), and the presentation of the Brand of Honor,<br />

ALVES MAKES HISTORY – Silvano Alves is the first rider in history to win back-to-back <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong><br />

<strong>Series</strong> World Championships, earning the titles in 2011 and 2012. In 2011, Alves became the first rider to win<br />

the World Championship the year after winning the Rookie of the Year title. Adriano Moraes won the first title


in 1994, and became the first two-time winner in 2001. He became the only three-time winner in 2006. The<br />

other two-time World Champions are Chris Shivers (2000 and 2003) and Justin McBride (2005 and 2007).<br />

METEROIC CLIMB ON MONEY LIST – Alves has earned more than $3.3 million, and ranks fifth in career<br />

earnings. He reached $3 million faster than any bull rider in history, achieving it in 76 events and 28 months.<br />

He also reached $2 million (23 months and 58 events), and $1 million (18 months and 47 events) faster than any<br />

other rider.<br />

TELEVISION BROADCAST – CBS will broadcast the PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday,<br />

Feb. 2 and again at 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4 (Please Check Local Listings). Friday’s broadcast will have Craig<br />

Hummer providing the play-by-play, making his 2013 debut after being sidelined for two months recovering<br />

from a cycling accident. Color commentary will be provided by JW Hart, and dirt-level interviews will be<br />

handled by Leah Garcia. BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR by David Neal Productions, a Los Angelesbased<br />

production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who<br />

serves as executive producer and creative lead.<br />

WORLD CHAMPION ASTEROID – Making his debut in the PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle at Winston-Salem,<br />

N.C., picking up a bull score of 46 after bucking off 2008 PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi. Asteroid<br />

(Circle T Ranch & Rodeo) was 16-1 in 2012, and won the World Champion <strong>Bull</strong> title at the PBR <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong><br />

<strong>Tough</strong> World Finals. He had the highest score in the <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong> Championship Round with 46.50 points,<br />

out of a possible 50 points, and tied Bushwacker for high score in Round 1 with 46.75 points. Asteroid had the<br />

three highest, and 10 of the Top 20 bull scores in 2012. He registered the highest score of the year in with 47.50<br />

points, bucking off two-time World Champion Silvano Alves in 1.81 seconds at the PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle<br />

at <strong>Sacramento</strong>, Calif., in January, and Valdiron de Oliveira in 2.33 seconds at the PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle at<br />

Tampa, Fla., in September. Asteroid had the third-highest score of the year with 47.25 points after bucking off<br />

Stormy Wing in 1.99 seconds in the <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong> Championship Round at Des Moines, Iowa. He won the<br />

Pabst Blue Ribbon Award for being the high-marked bull at regular season events five times (Anaheim, Atlanta,<br />

Des Moines, Nashville, Philadelphia). He had two of the Top 10 bull scores in 2011, and was the high-marked<br />

bull at four consecutive events in Tulsa, San Antonio, Springfield, Mo., and Milwaukee.<br />

BUSHWACKER CONTINUES TO RECEIVE HIGH MARKS – Was named high-marked bull after<br />

making his debut in Oklahoma City last weekend in the Championship Round on Sunday with a score of 46<br />

points. 2011 PBR World Champion <strong>Bull</strong> Bushwacker (Julio Moreno/Richard Oliveira) has been the highmarked<br />

bull in six of his last seven outs. He tied Asteroid with 46.75 points, out of a possible 50 points, in<br />

Round 1 at the PBR <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong> World Finals, and finished second in the <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong><br />

Championship Round with 46.25 points. He scored 47 out of a possible 50 points in his last two regular season<br />

events at Springfield, Mo., on Sept. 16, and at Thackerville, Okla., on Sept. 1. He was marked 46.50 points at<br />

San Antonio on Aug. 18, and 46.25 points at Tulsa, Okla., on Aug. 11, and at Kansas City on April 1.<br />

Bushwacker had the highest bull score with 46.50 points in the PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle at Albuquerque,<br />

N.M., on March 24, and he tied for the second-highest bull score with 46 points at the Dickies® Iron Cowboy<br />

III presented by WinStar World Casino on March 3 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Bushwacker<br />

missed the first eight events of 2012 after undergoing surgery in January. He has bucked off 35 consecutive<br />

riders at <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong> <strong>Series</strong> events, and 48 consecutive riders overall. He’s been marked 47 points or<br />

higher 11 times in his career, including a career-high 48.50 points in Round 3 at the 2011 <strong>Built</strong> <strong>Ford</strong> <strong>Tough</strong><br />

World Finals. Bushwacker competed in 14 BFTS events in 2011, and was the high-marked bull 10 times. He<br />

had the three highest scores of 2011 with 48.50 points in Round 3 at the World Finals, and 47.75 points at<br />

Anaheim, Calif., and Arlington, Texas.
