Fortifying a Healthy Future
Albert and Helen Mazurkiewicz Endowed Scholarship recipient David Brzyski is a
self-admitted “people person.” This trait has been evident since the day he was
accepted into the New Jersey Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics
Education (NJCSTME) BS/MS Biotechnology program. Throughout his tenure at
Kean, the senior has been proactively involved with programs that connect him with
fellow students and faculty, as well as those which introduce him to new ones.
A student ambassador, intern and participant in the Student for a Day program, it is
no surprise that the dedication he puts forth toward being successful in his major
is a by-product of his affinity to helping those around him. “The idea of discovering
a new drug or even a cure for a disease is what keeps me motivated,” says David.
“If I could help just one person manage his disease or find a cure, in my eyes, that
would be a tremendous success.”
