Spring Spectacular XXXVII — 1

Welcome to our 37th Bull and Elite Female Sale. Our offering this year consists of polled and horned Full Fleckvieh, 

Simmental, Angus and cross breds all carefully selected from our bull test goups. The bulls have all been BIO tested 

and complete information on each bull is available. 

We are proud to include a number of producers who participated in our test center. All bulls have had to meet the same criteria to 

be selected for the sale. Our goal is to offer bulls that will offer calving ease, moderate frame, but which excel in performance and 

carcass traits. Our offering should include enough diversity and specific traits to offer a solution for most breeding programs. 

The female program has gone through the same BIO testing and we are offering a selected group from our 2009 calving program 

ready to breed or flush. We have not sold any of our Angus females born last year but saved them for this spring sale. 

On behalf of the Consigners, a special thank you to the Bar5 crew for a fine job in the preperation for the sale. 

We will again offer a more comfortable seating arrangement at the sale and stable the cattle close to the sale barn for the 

buyers convenience. This year we will include a video bull parade,dinner,an interesting presentation of what’s ahead in Beef 

Improvement and social get together on the Friday night, so don’t miss it.

iv.) Density - Aim for over 200 on the AYW/FS or Adjusted 

Density; using Actual Density of Height/Weight - 220 or 100

v.) Carcass ultra sound = Balanced Carcass Values; Rib eye - 

over 1 inch per 100 lbs. 

- REA/CWT, high marbling % in the 3 or more range, & 

moderate BF of 4-10 mm.

1.6mm Back Fat at 1300lbs.

A Full South African polled bull with all the pigmentation and colour. One of the heavier bulls on

Auctioneer`s decision in such matters will be final. The Auctioneer 

shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous 

record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit 

clearance prior to the sae. 

PurCHaser’s rIsK: Each animal becomes the risk of the 

purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchase’s 

risk for a reasonable length of time. 

aNNouNCeMeNts: Announcements from the auction block 

will take precedence over the printed matter in this catalogue. Buyers 

are therefore cautioned to pay attention to such announcements.

Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and 

furnished. 

traNsPortatIoN: Bar 5 will arrange for trucking to your 

farm or a central point; the following normal charges will apply 

unless the buyer wishes to take care of shipping themselves:

BreeDers GuaraNtee 

BuLLs: Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over, fail 

to prove a breeder after being used on cows know to be breeders, 

the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) 

months following date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull 

has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will have the 

right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. 

No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will be 

suitable for artificial insemination. 

FeMaLes: Cows represented as being “pregnancy tested, sage in 

calf” have been examined and declared by a licensed veterinarian 

and will be accompanied by a veterinarian’s certificate to the 

effect. They are considered breeders without further guarantee. 

Cows with calves at side shall be considered breeders also without 

further guarantee; cows and heifers represented at “bred” are 

not guaranteed safe in calf but they are open heifers selling as 

individual lots are guaranteed to be breeders. No guarantee shall 

apply to sucking calves. In the event a female is claimed to be a 

non-breeder, after having been bred regularly to a bull known to be 

a breeder and after having been treated by a licensed veterinarian, 

the matter must be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) 

months of sale date. For heifers under twelve (12) months of age and 

purchased as a single lots and who fail to conceive to the services 

of a bull known to be a breeder, the matter must be reported in 

writing to the seller before the heifer reaches eighteen (18) months 

of age. The seller shall have six (6) additional months in which to 

prove any such female a breeder and may use any registered bull 

of the breed available to him. Any female returned will be at the 

purchaser’s risk. No guarantee is given that a pregnant female will 

deliver live calves nor that she will carry calves full term not that 

the calf carried will not be mummified. The seller is not responsible 

for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold 

or for sickness not apparent at sale time. 

eXCePtIoN oF GuaraNtee: In cases where the animal is 

subjected to hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the 

sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

aCCouNt oF tHe PurCHaser. 

No incidental expenses such as feed, A.I. signing fees, interest, 

veterinary charges, etc., will be charged by the either party when 

making settlement. FI the seller is successful in proving the animal 

a breeder, the said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser at his 

expense Should the seller fail to prove the animal a breeder, then 

the buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement, F.O.B. ranch 

or location of origin or a refund of the actual purchase price paid 

F.O.B. selling point. In no event shall the seller by responsible 

for more than the purchase price. Should a dispute arise over the 

quality of the replacement animal, the Sales Management will 

appoint a mediator. 

HeaLtH: All animals will have passed the required tests as 

determined by Agriculture Canada at sale location. It is the buyer’s 

responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any 

animal into his province, state or country. 

aCCIDeNts: Although every precaution will be taken to 

protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Owners, sales 

Management nor Staff, assume any responsibility in this matter and 

disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident 

or loss of property. 

rIGHts aND oBLIGatIoNs: The above terms and conditions 

of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the 

seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following 

purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the 

rights and obligations of both parties connected thereto are not 

covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
