GLOSSARY OF TERMS<br />

A facility which pays a fee for the delivery and transfer<br />

of ownership to the facility of source separated<br />

materials, for the purose of recycling or composting.<br />

Those direct costs incured in order to acquire real<br />

propert assets such as land, buildings and building<br />

additions, site improvements, machinery and equipment.<br />

Those facilities which must be located where site<br />

characteristics and contanment strctues isolate solid<br />

waste from the waters of the State. "Class III Landfills"<br />

must meet the requirements of the Federal Resource<br />

Conservation and Recovery Act, Subtitle D, and the<br />

CCR, Title 23, Section 2533, as well as those mandated<br />

by Sections 17000 et seq., of Title 14 of the CCR and<br />

other regional and local rules and regulations.<br />

Solid waste originating from stores, husiness offces,<br />

commercial warehouses, hospitals, educational, health<br />

care, milita, and correctional institutions, nonprofit<br />

research organizations, and governent offces.<br />

Commercial solid wastes do not include constrction and<br />

demolition waste.<br />

A mix of empty beverage containers and other container .<br />

of the same material tye. Any broken glass of empty<br />

beverage contaner(s) is deemed commingled..<br />

Commingled rates are determined by DOC Division of<br />

Recycling pursuat to subsections 2750 and 2770 of<br />

Chapter 5 of Division 2 of Title 14 of Californa Code of<br />

Reguations.<br />

A mixtue of several recyclable materials In one<br />

contaer.<br />

A tye of trash contaer which can be moved on and off<br />

a roll-off trck. The contaners have the capability of<br />

hydrulically compressing materials with the contaner.<br />

A vehicle with an enclosed body contanig mechanical<br />

devices tht convey solid waste into the main<br />

comparent of the body and compress it.<br />
