Ths Countyde Integrated Waste Management Sumar Plan is the product of
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
the efforts of many
individuals dedicated to the well-being of the residents of the 88 cities and the unncorporated
communities in Los Angeles County. The County of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County
Deparent of Public Works would like to than them for all their help for which we are most
gratefu.
The County of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County Deparent of Public Works would like
to th the members of the Los Angeles County Solid Waste Management Commttee/Integrated
Waste Management Task Force and its Plan Review Subcommttee for their dedication and effort
in developing goals and policies, and reviewig and commentig on ths Plan and its Negative
Declaration. Their efforts, direction, and dedication
have ensurd that these documents address the
needs and concerns of the residents and businesses in the 88 cities and the unncorporated
communties in the County.
As the public inormation meetings were essential to the completion of ths Sumar Plan, we
would like to than all those involved. We paricularly than the Claremont, East San Gabriel,
Glendale/Burban Long Beach Valley, Los Angeles, Torrance, and Whttier Chapters of the League
of Women Voters which paricipated in the public heargs. Special recogntion should go to
League representatives Beatrce Antenore, Nancy Ameim, Judith Berquist, La Rue Brewer, Thea
Brodkin, Ellen Pangarliota, Margo Reeg, Ana Rundle, Marlee Scaf, Bett Trotter, and Kay
Whte, as well as Lark Tedesco of
the Antelope Valley Shop Talk Toastmasters, who served as
moderators for the meetings. Also, many thans to Ginger Bremberg of
the Task Force who was
moderatorfor the Santa Clarta
meetings and the other Task Force members who gave their time to
attend and assist us at these meetings.
We would also like to than the stas of the Deparent of Public Works' Planng Division,
Environmental and Special Studies Section, for their advice and assistace in preparing the
environmenta document, and Mapping and Propert Management Division, Mapping Services
Section, for their assistace in preparng maps and displays.
The sta of the Deparent of Public Works' Environmental Programs Division is acknowledged
for their dedication and effort in the preparation of ths document.
Finally, we would like to recognze and commend the citizens of
Los Angeles County for all their
input and responsiveness durg the presentation of ths Sumar Plan. It is though the cooperative
