individuals dedicated to the well-being of the residents of the 88 cities and the unncorporated<br />

communities in <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>County</strong>. The <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> and the <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

Deparent of Public Works would like to than them for all their help for which we are most<br />

gratefu.<br />

The <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> and the <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>County</strong> Deparent of Public Works would like<br />

to th the members of the <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>County</strong> Solid <strong>Waste</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Commttee/<strong>Integrated</strong><br />

<strong>Waste</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Task Force and its Plan Review Subcommttee for their dedication and effort<br />

in developing goals and policies, and reviewig and commentig on ths Plan and its Negative<br />

Declaration. Their efforts, direction, and dedication<br />

have ensurd that these documents address the<br />

needs and concerns of the residents and businesses in the 88 cities and the unncorporated<br />

communties in the <strong>County</strong>.<br />

As the public inormation meetings were essential to the completion of ths Sumar Plan, we<br />

would like to than all those involved. We paricularly than the Claremont, East San Gabriel,<br />

Glendale/Burban Long Beach Valley, <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong>, Torrance, and Whttier Chapters of the League<br />

of Women Voters which paricipated in the public heargs. Special recogntion should go to<br />

League representatives Beatrce Antenore, Nancy Ameim, Judith Berquist, La Rue Brewer, Thea<br />

Brodkin, Ellen Pangarliota, Margo Reeg, Ana Rundle, Marlee Scaf, Bett Trotter, and Kay<br />

Whte, as well as Lark Tedesco of<br />

the Antelope Valley Shop Talk Toastmasters, who served as<br />

moderators for the meetings. Also, many thans to Ginger Bremberg of<br />

the Task Force who was<br />

moderatorfor the Santa Clarta<br />

meetings and the other Task Force members who gave their time to<br />

attend and assist us at these meetings.<br />

We would also like to than the stas of the Deparent of Public Works' Planng Division,<br />

Environmental and Special Studies Section, for their advice and assistace in preparing the<br />

environmenta document, and Mapping and Propert <strong>Management</strong> Division, Mapping Services<br />

Section, for their assistace in preparng maps and displays.<br />

The sta of the Deparent of Public Works' Environmental Programs Division is acknowledged<br />

for their dedication and effort in the preparation of ths document.<br />

Finally, we would like to recognze and commend the citizens of<br />

<strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>County</strong> for all their<br />

input and responsiveness durg the presentation of ths Sumar Plan. It is though the cooperative<br />

efforts of all individuas commtted to their communties and the envionment that ths Sumar<br />

Plan can be effectively implemented.
