MAINTENANCE OF BRETHREN IN CPS<br />

<strong>Church</strong> (CPS Brethren), Marion, Va., by Howard<br />

PASSED ON<br />

Hunt-Jean, infant son <strong>of</strong> Mr. and Mrs. Leon<br />

Hunt, <strong>of</strong> Ceres, California, was born December<br />

22, 1945; died May 1, 1946. The writer tried to<br />

speak words <strong>of</strong> comfort to the sorrowing, May<br />

9, in Modesto. We extend to them our greatest<br />

sympathy. - -C. T. Springs, Ceres, Calif.<br />

Mahurin-Charles A. Mahurin, Lodi, Calif ., was<br />

born Feb. 10, 1880, at Garfield, Ark.; departed<br />

this life, April 15, 1946.<br />

In 1902, he was united in matrimony to Miss<br />

Ollie Easley, to which union were born eight<br />

children, all <strong>of</strong> whom survive.<br />

Brother Mahurin obeyed the gospel, July 31,<br />

1927, thus becoming a member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Church</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Christ</strong>.<br />

He is survived by his wife and eight children.<br />

The writer spoke words <strong>of</strong> comfort to the bereaved.<br />

Interment was in the cemetery, near Lodi.<br />

-Paul 0. Nichols.<br />

Koller-John Wm. Koller was born in Indiana,<br />

January 30, 1890. In 1910, he was united in ma-<br />

trimony to Gracie E. Evans, and he is’ survived<br />

.by his widow and four children-as follows: Elmer,<br />

Littlefield, Texas ; Walter, Hastings, Okla. ; Bill,<br />

Byng, Okla.; and Irene, Sulphur, Okla., their<br />

home; also his father, two brothers, one sister,<br />

and two grand children; together with a host <strong>of</strong><br />

friends and brethren.<br />

Brother Koller was a true and faithful Chris-<br />

tian, and will be greatly missed in the Sulphur<br />

church. He was held in high esteem by all who<br />

knew him. This was evidenced by the large crowd<br />

that gathered at Sulphur to pay their last respects<br />

to a true friend and brother. May God’s bless-<br />

ings and mercy attend those who are left behind to-<br />

mourn his loss. The writer spoke words <strong>of</strong> com-<br />

fort to the bereaved.<br />

CRUCIFIED THE FLESH ‘<br />

“And they that are <strong>Christ</strong>‘s have crucified the<br />

flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live<br />

in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let<br />

us not be desirous <strong>of</strong> vain glory, provoking one<br />

another, envying one another” (Gal. 5:24-26). I<br />

am afraid that when we spend more money for<br />

the lust <strong>of</strong> the flesh, we have never “crucified the<br />

flesh with the affections and lusts,” as Paul en-<br />
