Duplex
DUPLEX is a unique, two-layer fabric that can be worn year round.
In the winter, DUPLEX products are ideal for cross-country skiing,
and in the summer for cycling, hiking, etc. The architecture of the
fabric combines two thin layers of fabric in precise rapport threaded
together at points creating a sandwich with a layer of air in the
middle. The inside, with a less dense weave, partially wicks moisture
away via the connecting threads to the outer layer and partially
evaporates it into the layer of air in the middle. From here, the moisture
is transferred to the outer layer and evaporated. The layer of
air in the middle functions as a thermal insulator while acting as a
wind barrier. The ideal utilization of differing types of fibres results
in excellent functional attributes and wearing comfort. We recommend
wearing it as the first layer.
Duplex ist ein zweischichtiges Gewebe für das ganze Jahr. Im Winter
eignen sich Produkte aus dieser Reihe z.B. für den Langlauf, im
Sommer wiederum für den Radsport, Bergwanderungen usw. Der
Aufbau ist so konstruiert, daß zwei verbundene dünne Schichten
eine Luftzwischenschicht bilden. Die linke Seite leitet die Feuchte
ab. Die Feuchte wird in der Zwischenschicht teils gespeichert
und teils weiter abgeleitet und zwar in die Außenschicht, wo sie
verdampft. Die mittlere Luftschicht isoliert und besitzt auch Dämmfunktion
bei Luftströmung. Die Benutzung zweierlei verschiedener
Fasern führt zu hervorragenden Funktionseigenschaften und
Tragekomfort. Es wird als erste Schicht empfohlen.
